#MovingOn

Be the woman that you want others to have in their life….. Damn… what a statement to myself. This is a huge thing for me. I always feel that I am undeserving of great things in life. I still have this fear that the other shoe will drop if I step outside of my safe box. That is the dumb for me to do!! I missing out on so much life. I have spent too time much dreaming and staying in my own prison when I am not meant to be there.

God healed me from all these things, and He often reminds me that I am not alone and that I am here for a greater purpose. I need to stop interfering in his job. Recently, I was able to go on a road trip with some great people. I learned a lot about the women I went on this trip with but I learned the most from myself. I learned that life is possible and the things that I want to do are POSSIBLE!

I can’t focus on the things that I can’t change and focus on the things that matter to me and work my ass off to get them. I need to stop working my ass off for people that don’t really care. I know that I am here to help others but first I need to help myself through this season. Sure things get wonky but God has been there for me every step of the way. I have selfishly put everyone before myself yet again, and I got wrapped into something that wasn’t meant for me to go through at all because I got in the way. So I forgive myself on  not allowing myself to really start life…. in this season.

I tried to explain where I am coming from to my family over the weekend and they looked at my like I was nuts… But I feel like through my time in recovery I went from being a infant into an adolescent and then into my life as an adult. I can’t explain the way my brain processed what I meant in that moment: Other than I had a new awakening. I realized that what “normal” people go through and know what they are suppose to do in this life… or what they want to do. I never had that moment until it was kinda forced onto me… because obviously I wasn’t ” Getting” it when it was presented to me before. The fact is… I need to get started on something important in life… More than what I have been doing.

Let me get this out of the way, even though I have been feeling lazy in life, I really haven’t. While most people were going to school, living a single life, figuring out life in a “hands on” kind of way, I was raising babies, getting married and figuring all that out, getting divorced and going through a custody battle way before most people my age graduated with their first degree. I was living a life that some are just doing now. So things are flipped for me, I am almost done with raising babies. My oldest will be graduating high school next year, the next will be a year behind her, and 3 years after that.. so I get to live a much different way than some of the people in my age group. To be honest my hat goes off to them, They did things the way I wish I could of. But its all about choices… because trying to go to school with a child and really no help is almost impossible. Some have done it and high five to you. It wasn’t in my cards. My hands on training in life was different. I know that I want to go back to school even though I will be that old person in class I don’t care… I want to finish school damnit. I want to do a lot of things in this life I want to be able to impact someones life for the better. I want to be able to say that through the work that God sets out for me that people are enriched.

I want to be able to experience going to different places in the world and experiences cultures. I want to be able to say that I have done this with people who are like minded. I want to be able to have real friends and not to be afraid of using my voice to speak life and to make boundaries, or to rid of the people or things that have no business being in my life. I don’t want to continue to compare my life to others, because just like me they and myself don’t know the real story behind the closed doors of others. I can however take a page from their book and learn something from them but not compare successes.

That is by far, the hardest lessons to act on, But when He tells you to move, you better move. When He says speak you speak. When He gives any commandment do it. We all hesitate to do these things because there is a real feeling of fear and rejection. I know that is what I feel when I am presented with these things myself. The times that I didn’t act there were things that happened that I certainly didn’t like. One of those ” A ha” moments came to me over the last few weeks and it was amazing to see things from a new fresh way. I was doing things for people that wouldn’t even think to do things like that for me. My business was suffering because I was thinking that I didn’t deserve to be a self sufficient business owner. Or people in my life are actually wanting to be a part of it and I shut them out because I overly trusted the wrong people in my life. I was believing lies that weren’t true.

I was watching others grow and I was there wishing that I possessed those skills to tell the wrong people in my life to piss off but in a much nicer way, but it also turns out that you sometimes need to be rough with others to remove them out of your life. The point is that I needed to move out of the complacent place in my life. Its time to move. The momentary emotions will pass but there is something bigger waiting for me past this moment. Its not my job to stay in one place. That is one thing that I love about myself, is that I accept the movement forward. I am still working on the emotional part. I know that we are not to stay in one place in our lives, we are called to do things and its our duty to live in that. I know that this moment for me is the hardest lesson is to not be fearful when saying goodbye to certain people in my life. God is making room for others to come in, not only for me to pour into them but for them to pour into me. God is my biggest fan… I do things for Him.

Right now, what does that look like for me? Well that means that I need to move forward. Allow the people that are not to be in my life at the moment to leave and make their exit. Allow myself to feel excited about the next move. Allow myself to put pen to paper make my plan and make it happen with His guidance. Allow myself to be hated or disliked, because we all know that is something that I have been getting used to lately in this season. I am living proof that no one has died from being unpopular or lied about etc. I am still here and standing because I leaned on His understanding and kept my faith through it all. To allow myself to accept the blessing that have come and yet to come.  Blessings look much different than what we assume blessings are at times. That has been my experience. Allow myself to smile. Allow myself to not solve everyones problems. Allow myself to have fun and not be so uptight. Allow myself to take a small moment for myself. Allow myself to just be in the moment. Allow myself to be coachable but not gullible. Allow myself to be humble but not a doormat. Allow myself a life worth living and see and experience things. Allow myself to accept successes in life. Allow myself to let things go and grow in a new way. Allow myself to love all of me, and work my ass off for the right and wise reasons.

Life is really short… and even though struggle with some things in life that others around me may not doesn’t mean that I am not deserving of some good. We all do, it just looks different to all of us. I am done with this phase and really grateful that I am walking out of this season wiser. I am going to let my freak flag fly…. haha and I accept that you may not accept me for me but I accept me.

Its time I walk out of my own shadow. Who is coming with me? I would like to hear your stories and feedback.

The power of letting go

Phew!!! Even the title is a doozy. Letting go!! Gosh that’s so subjective but so powerful!!

This is a hard subject for anyone. I came across this graphic on Facebook. It resonated with me deeply.  It said something along the lines of If God closes the door don’t keep knocking on it. It made so much sense to me. He closed it for a reason. There’s nothing there for you anymore!! Move it along Sister!!

This quote came at the beginning of this season in my life. I sat on my couch and pondered as to WHY this resonated with me. At the time I was knocking on a door that was shut. I feel that sometimes we have to mourn those closed doors and then move along. I didn’t quite get that so many years before. I got it now. I now know my limit and that I will be just fine to walk away when those doors close. It all comes back to being obedient when God guides you to keep moving forward.

That is so liberating right?! When you know that you have the skills and the discipline to walk away. Better yet you have the empowerment and the confidence to walk away when doors shut like that. It means it time to grow and change. It’s time for growth. It’s time to harvest. It’s time in any capacity to MOVE forward yall.

Sure it’s going to be hard. Sure it’s going to be rocky in some points. Shoot it might be hard the whole dang time. But your blessing comes after. God doesn’t let you walk the journey alone. He is there the whole time. Just take his hand and allow Him to guide you through it all. He is so much bigger than the season you’re in. I promise you.

Now that I think of it. How exciting is it to know that all the glory goes to Him and He blesses you. So I’m going to pray for y’all who read this. I pray that whatever you’re walking through right now that God stirs in your heart, and that you hold His hand as you walk through this time. That you see the joy in His eye that he has for you. That you feel joy in this walk good and bad that He is going to bless you. I pray that His perfect love washes all over you and that you know that He loves you so much that His son died so that YOU can live!

Live y’all. Live in His name. Live life to the fullest. Do it with love and compassion. Do it because it brings you joy. Do what He intended you to do and stop knocking on those closed doors yall. Because He is right there is nothing back there that is going to help you grow. Plant good seed in your new soil and grow!!

As for me, well, I’m going to do the best that I can to knock down the walls that want to confine. Not today boo boo!! I will live life as He intended for me. I know that I have moments of being stubborn. But I hear what’s calling and that I can do this. So I will make distance between me and that closed door. Yes I will.

So let go of all the closed doors your knocking on. If it doesn’t feel right or you know it’s not good for you. Give yourself the permission to walk away. You don’t know what waits for you.

Chapter 9 Love? What is that anyway?

I will talk about this subject a lot. I am going to treat this chapter as if it were a journal entry. Love… So many of us, if not all of us seek love. So what is love. That is a question all of us seek in our hearts. There is such a stigma that comes with a woman when talks of love. Well darn it everyone wants and needs love. It’s what we think love is. So let me take you on a journey of what that looks like for me.

The definition of Love

Love

Noun

1.An intense feeling of deep affection

2. A person or thing that one loves

3.(in tennis, squash and some other sports) a score of zero

Verb

  1. Feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to

So that is what the dictionary says. Thank you Bing and Siri for that help. Haha

To me that definition is very subjective. I know for me I, like most people have wanted a love that is so deep and true it would make the heavens rejoice. I always envisioned my very own prince charming. Not only did he have all the looks and that V that drives any sane woman crazy. Thick hair, strong jaw, strong shoulders and the most gorgeous arms that can hold any woman tight and to top it off can wear a great pair of jeans and plain white T-shirt. To me that was just physical stuff. I wanted that and the heart of gold as well. The man who knew how to treat people with the great empathy, respect and knew how to stand his ground. Who has great morals and ethics. Who was proud of me in all my flaws and goodness.A man that would take care of me in all ways the way that I would take care of him. A man who knew how to just love me unconditionally. Finally, good in bed. Of course there is so much more to all of that. I wanted a man that could talk to my heart and intrigue my mind.

As I grow older that all changes a little bit. But I noticed that as I do age there are many kinds of Love. I was wanting a movie or book love. So I thought.

So with me, even though I want to talk about something may or may not exist. There are loves that are very real. There is the love we have for our parents, siblings, other family members, our children, community, our pets, love for our church, friends, friends who are family, movies, books, activities, hobbies. I don’t hear many people talk about how they love themselves or the love they have for our Creator. We have love for them too.

All of those things and I am sure that I have missed some things and people that we love. So what is love to me? What is love to you?

Love to me is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. They are one. One is not higher than the other. They each bring different things to the table but its all love. Selfless and raw love. Everything done with the purpose of love. I didn’t that until I actually allowed them into my heart fully. That is the greatest gift that I was given a little over a year ago. The road was long and hard with great moments of life that I cherished. There were all those other moments that happened as well, but even then I always saw a brighter side to those situations. To me they are one and one love that is so perfect.

Then there is love of my children. Everything I have ever done for my kids was done out of love. I knew that I needed to stop the cycle that my own parents had tried to pass down to me. Not that they knew that was happening. I choose to love my kids almost to the point of smothering. Haha. I showed them the love I had always wanted from my parents. I love the crap out of all my kids! I hold them, I kiss them, I cuddle with them, I praise them, I correct them, I would do anything for them. I teach them the why we do things and why we don’t. I prank my kids, I play with my kids. I laugh with my kids, I cry with my kids, and I love watching them grow into the awesome humans they are. They are my world.

The love that I have for my parents is pretty awesome too. I love them both for who they are and all the things they don’t know about themselves. Mom always told me that one day I would learn who they are as people not as mom and dad. She was so right. I learned who they are and some of what they went through to attempt to raise me. Like I said before I wasn’t always easy. I wasn’t meant to be easy. I didn’t love one more than the other. I love them both for who they are and what they mean to me. My mom is one of my bestie, and so is my dad. I can tell them anything. They each give me words of wisdom and they each do it in love. I also love them for all the pain they went through. They are very much a part of my life and love. My mom is my rock and one woman who I love going on adventures on. We have a lot of fun together. I don’t think we would have had that kind of relationship if I hadn’t been me the whole time. My mom wasn’t the only teaching me things in life. For us its a two-way street and it feels great that we push each other in ways that at times makes us uncomfortable but we do it. I love my momma. My dad is kind of like my teacher. We talk about everything too. We love to talk about Jesus and life. He helps me see things from a different point of view and perspective that I may have overlooked. My dad loves me all of me. I definitely get his sense of humor. He and I even talk similar when we talk about life with others. Almost like a teacher would to students. Its wonderful. He knows my mind for the most part. My mom knows my heart for the most part, and together we all make a great team. I feel they raised a pretty awesome human. I think of them like immortals. I can’t see my life without them in it in some way. I felt the same way about my Granddaddy. That man had all of my heart. He and I were connected in such a way that only God knows. He is the man who made a great model of what my husband will be when I was a little girl. I loved him and still love him. Its been two years since he went home to Granny and Jesus. Now he gets to hang around the cool crowd. That makes me smile.

My friends and friends I have considered family…. There are no words for I how I love them. There are really only three people who I have let get close to me. That is just because of all my junk that I carried with me. Some were willing to stick with me through it all. I love them like I do my family. I would do all that I could for them.

Then there is everyone else. I have a lot of love that I want to share with people. I love people in such a way that I don’t judge what you are going through. I don’t even to pretend that I know what you are going through in life. I don’t have that kind of power. There is a lot of people out there that just need someone to let them know that they matter too. Maybe no one has ever said to them Hey I freaking love you. You are important too. But I am not Jesus y’all. I can’t fix this world. I can only do my part in just loving my neighbor, brother and sister. For instance when people say awful things to me, I don’t dare think with feelings or take it personal. I have no idea what that person is going through. I have no idea what pain or joy they have. I choose to respond in such a way that makes me question myself at times. Like, there are times that maybe I should have been pissed but I wasn’t. Forgive and move on. I know that I am different but there are people who feel that they need to tell me awful things they think about me. When really it may be them who is having these feelings about themselves.

Like some people have told me that I need to do something different from spend my time writing or working from home. I am not that person that fits into this world very easily or at all. Trust me and ask my parents. They tried to have me follow what the ” world” expects me to do. That is just not me. I was not put on this earth to do what the world expects me to do. I do what I am asked to do by my Father. What he says goes. Not the world. I have no idea if that makes to y’all but it makes sense to me.

Love is so important to all of us as humans. That is the one thing that we crave the most. It is the MOST WANTED, most desired. We all want to be loved. I am curious what love means to you. How has it impacted your life. Or the lack there of love?

I crave the deepest of intimacy from those close to me. I am so willing to share and I do crave to listen and be there in the most intimate times of people’s lives. If that is one thing I want it’s that sort of intimacy from another human. I don’t how to describe it … yet but when I do find the words I will share. I want a relationship with you all. I want to get to know you, and that is my expression of love to you all.
